FLY ASIA 2026, Asia’s leading startup expo showcasing the present and future of the region’s startup ecosystem, will be held over two days, from October 7 (Wed) to 8 (Thu), at BEXCO Exhibition Center Hall 1 in Busan.
Hosted by the Busan Metropolitan City government and organized by the Busan Startup Investment Agency, this year’s event carries the slogan “Connect Asia, Fly to the World” and features diverse programs connecting startups with venture investors. This year’s main theme, “Blue Ocean Connect,” puts special focus on the convergence of global capital, the Blue Economy, and AI technology.
Significantly Expanded Scale and Differentiated Programming
FLY ASIA 2025 was a success, attracting participation from more than 14 countries, hosting over 52 programs, and drawing 19,235 attendees. The event facilitated 1,271 one-on-one business meetups and generated approximately KRW 200 billion (about USD 150 million) in investment-linked deals, cementing its position as a key startup platform in Asia.
FLY ASIA 2026 will expand its venue to more than 1.5 times the size of last year’s — making it the largest edition to date — with 200 exhibiting companies and a Global Pavilion featuring around 50 booths from 17 countries.
Key programs include official opening and closing ceremonies; conferences covering topics such as Marine, Physical AI, Globalization, Investment, and Financial Innovation; startup IR sessions and one-on-one meetups; awards recognizing outstanding domestic and international companies; a “Young Star Zone” dedicated to university and international students; and a wide range of collaborative programs.
A Shift Toward Blue Economy and AI Content, Plus Tailored Networking Infrastructure
The most notable change this year is a full pivot toward Blue Economy and AI-centered content. Mark Huang, a clean technology and Bluetech expert with over 20 years of experience, will deliver a keynote address at FLY ASIA 2026. As a co-founder of SeaAhead — a platform advancing ocean sustainability and Bluetech innovation — Huang will share insights into the global Bluetech landscape and the future of the ocean industry.
The event will also introduce a Maritime Innovation Pavilion and a maritime conference session, highlighting new ideas that bring together the Blue Economy and AI technology. These programs will showcase Busan’s strengths and its vision for the future of the ocean economy.
Additionally, FLY ASIA will launch its proprietary meetup-matching app, enabling real-time search and requests for both pre-scheduled and on-site meetups. An “MOU Signing Zone” will also operate throughout the event to help translate business exchanges into concrete investment outcomes.
More Than 20,000 Global Startup Ecosystem Participants Expected
FLY ASIA 2026 is expected to draw more than 20,000 participants from the global startup ecosystem. The expo will host an open networking party accessible to all attendees. In addition, it will support the next generation of entrepreneurs through startup idea competitions for university and international students, consulting sessions provided by the Busan Global Startup Immigration Center, and special lectures for young entrepreneurs.
Pre-registration for FLY ASIA 2026 is currently open on the official website. A free “Digital Exhibition” program is also accepting applications, allowing startups to showcase their innovations online without operating a physical booth, while still connecting them to on-site networking through the meetup-matching app. Applications are open through September 23 (Wed).

아시아 스타트업 허브 부산에서 'FLY ASIA 2026' 개막… 전년 대비 1.5배 이상 커진 규모
아시아 창업 생태계의 현재와 미래를 조망하는 아시아 대표 창업 엑스포 ‘FLY ASIA 2026’이 오는 10월 7일(수)부터 8일(목)까지 2일간 부산 벡스코 제1전시장에서 개최된다.
부산광역시가 주최하고 부산기술창업투자원이 주관하는 이번 행사는 ‘Connect Asia, Fly to the World’를 슬로건으로 내걸고 창업과 벤처투자를 연결하는 다채로운 프로그램을 선보인다. 특히 올해는 ‘Blue Ocean Connect’를 메인 테마로 설정해 글로벌 자본과 해양 및 AI 기술의 만남을 집중 조명한다.
전년 대비 대폭 확대된 규모와 차별화된 프로그램
지난해 ‘FLY ASIA 2025’는 총 14개국 이상이 참가해 52개 이상의 프로그램이 운영되면서 1만9235명의 참관객을 기록하며 성공적으로 치러진 바 있다. 특히 1271건의 1:1 밋업과 약 2000억원의 투자 연계 성과를 거두며 아시아 핵심 창업 플랫폼으로 자리매김했다.
올해 ‘FLY ASIA 2026’은 전년 대비 행사장 규모를 1.5배 이상 확장하고, 총 200개 사의 전시 참가 기업과 17개국 약 50개 부스 규모의 글로벌 파빌리온을 운영하는 등 역대 최대 규모로 치러질 예정이다.
주요 프로그램으로는 △개·폐막식 등 공식행사 △해양 및 AI, 글로벌, 투자, 금융혁신을 아우르는 콘퍼런스 △스타트업 IR 및 1:1 밋업 △국내외 우수 기업을 발굴하는 어워즈 △대학생·유학생을 위한 영스타존 △다채로운 협업 프로그램 등이 진행된다.
해양·AI 중심 콘텐츠 전환 및 맞춤형 네트워킹 구축
‘FLY ASIA 2026’은 해양·AI 분야를 주요 테마로 내세워 부산의 산업적 강점과 글로벌 혁신 생태계를 연결한다. 특히 20년 이상 청정기술·블루테크 분야에서 활동해 온 전문가이자 해양 지속가능성·블루테크 혁신 플랫폼 ‘SeaAhead’ 공동창립자인 마크 황(Mark Huang)이 기조연설자로 참여해 글로벌 블루테크 산업의 흐름과 해양산업의 미래를 조명한다. 이와 함께 새롭게 신설된 ‘해양 특별관’과 콘퍼런스 해양세션을 통해 해양과 AI를 접목한 미래산업의 혁신 사례와 발전 방향을 소개하며, 부산만의 차별화된 해양산업 비전을 제시할 예정이다.
또한 ‘FLY ASIA’ 최초로 자체 밋업 매칭 앱을 도입해 사전 및 현장 밋업의 실시간 검색·신청을 지원하고, 실질적인 투자 성과로 이어질 수 있는 ‘MOU 체결존’을 상시 운영해 비즈니스 교류 기반을 한층 더 강화할 계획이다.

이외에도 네트워킹 파티를 통해 누구나 자유롭게 참여할 수 있는 열린 교류의 장을 마련하며, 대학생·유학생 창업 아이디어 경진대회 및 글로벌 창업 이민센터를 연계해 컨설팅, 청년 창업 특강 등을 통해 미래 창업 인재 육성에도 힘을 쏟을 예정이다.
